The Community Based Alternatives program
provides home and community-based services to people who are
elderly and adults with disabilities as cost-effective
alternatives to institutional care in nursing facilities.
Case management is provided by DADS staff. Services are

Requirements
To be eligible for this
program, you must meet the following criteria:

The individual must be age 21 or
older.
Ø
Be
a Medicaid recipient or be otherwise financially eligible.
Ø This determination is based on the income and resource
requirements for Medicaid benefits in nursing facilities.
The caseworker applies exclusions to income and resources.
The countable income must not exceed $1692 per month for an
individual; $3384 per month for a couple (both spouses
applying). Countable resources must not exceed $2000 for
an individual or $3000 for a couple (both spouses applying).
